Canada Day 2010

This year to celebrate Canada Day Motyka Fine Arts in Port Credit invited everyone to participate in a big collaborative painting.

It was great to see kids having fun with it, and a good idea to get the public used to seeing outdoor painting. It was also interesting to see the number of parents who felt apprehensive to let their children paint because of the mess involved.

But to those who appreciated it and said it was the best event in Port Credit that day - right on! Hopefully we'll see you again next year.

  1. I as a parent I loved the collaborative painting. It was awesome. I didn't care that my kids got messy as long as they were enjoying themselves that was the main goal as well as expressing themselves without any instructions or limitations as to what to paint or which color to use.All in all it was the best part of our day on Canada Day in port Credit.By the way thanks for the choice of picture for Canada Day 2010...that's soo cool the kids are on here.I think that there should be more art workshops for children.....

  2. Hey thanks for the post! I totally agree - there should be more art outlets for children, so kudos for Jane for hosting this free event. I was actually amazed at the number of parents who just rushed their kids to keep on walking by and not stop to paint - even if they showed interest. But for the parents who did stop - their enthusiasm definitely made up for it.
